Who We Are

Aluminium City is a privately owned Company formed by Mike Marshall in 1978, at a time when AHI Franchised the Manufacturing of its Aluminium Joinery Business.

The Marshall Group has grown and currently incorporates four separate companies in the Auckland Region.

The Companies employ in excess of 30 permanent staff and have additional contract staff available for use on a contract basis when required.

Success in the commercial and high-end architectural market created the demand for specialist skills and resulted in Aluminium City forming an architectural division specialising in large, complex projects.

Our specialist knowledge combined with efficient installation and fully integrated project management ensure that our customer’s projects are completed on time and within budget.

Aluminium City operates in Partnership with Architectural Profiles Limited (APL). APL supplies extrusion to Aluminium City under the “First Windows & Doors” brand. Aluminium City supplies all of the First range of products, which are branded as “Thermal Heart”, “Architectural Series”, “Metro Series” and “First Windows and Doors”.

APL is the leading Extrusion Supplier to the Architectural Window Market in NZ, employing over 170 staff in their Hamilton premises.

APL design and market their brands as, Altherm, First, Vantage, APL Commercial, and APL Architectural Series, supplying extrusion to 70 manufacturers throughout New Zealand.

The Partnership extends to providing Technical Services to support the Manufacturing Processes of Aluminium City.

The supply partnership with APL allows Aluminium City to provide Complete Design Solutions to Architects, Conduct Wind Load and Structural Calculations as well as Detailed Shop Drawings. All window designs are tested in house with 1 of only 3 IANZ Accredited Test Booths in New Zealand.

This process ensures that our Customers benefit from having the very best solution for their project requirements.

Over the past 32 years, the Marshall Group of Companies has had a major impact on the Auckland Construction Market through the supply of Window Solutions in many Landmark Buildings and Subdivisions.
